Good ole’ wedding fitness workout plan

My wedding is about six months, so excited!
Time is definitely flying and the ‘to-do’ list is starting to pile
up. Work has been busy for me lately, my
Zumba schedule has been busy, and now my ‘to-do’ list is starting to pile
up. What is a girl to do?!? I will have to admit at times I definitely feel overwhelmed and/or anxious with all of
the tasks that I need to complete for the wedding. For the times that I do
get extremely overwhelmed, I find myself spending time in the gym.
I teach Zumba three-four times a week depending on the week. In addition to the classes I teach, I wanted to add more to my overall workout regimen. I know you are probably thinking what else do you want? You teach all those classes? Isn’t that enough? Simple response: ‘no’.
I love teaching and it definitely helps me stay in shape, but there is definitely more fitness that I can add to my plate. So this year I have made a promise to myself to continue to work on my personal fitness goals. I mean what better time to have fitness goals when you have wedding coming up? With the wedding being six months away, I definitely have the right amount of motivation to obtain my goals. I have been playing with several workout plans that I have put myself on, to see what works best for both me and my schedule. Those of you who know me, know I have a very busy schedule and stay on the go. I can definitely say that I have taken a step back and attempted downgrade my busy schedule, in order to make time for my personal fitness goals.
I’m sure another question that
is probably buzzing in your mind is… “ You are already skinny and fit, why are
you trying to lose weight?" Let me make
this extra clear, I am NOT trying to lose weight at all. The common misconception that I have found
out is that people assume that skinny means fit, or in shape. Simply put – it does not. Though I can say that I am in a good shape, I
still feel that I can be in better shape and more fit. I am definitely not trying to lose any
weight, I am a petite person (and I accept it).
So losing weight is definitely not on my agenda. Though toning and gaining a little more
muscle mass is on my agenda. I have to
keep in mind that I have already been measured for my wedding dress, so I can
only do but so much. I mean, I still have
to be able to get into my dress! LOL.
So here is the plan that has
been working for me thus far:
Months:
January – March:
* Teach
regularly scheduled Zumba classes 3-4
times a week* Warm-up prior to class with a 1 mile run
* Stretch before/after Zumba class
* Attend abs class on Friday evenings
* Attend yoga class on Friday evenings
* Do 15-minute workouts for either butt /abs through the Nike Training iPhone app
Okay
so as you can see, I am pretty much all over the place with this workout plan.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s been working thus far. :-) I just feel that I need to revamp a few
things and develop a more defined schedule.
I’m all about structure and schedules, it helps me stay organized. So what to do….hmmm… (taps chin)
Well,
I took my talents to the internet (I love Google by the way! LOL). I searched high and low for different workout
plans, which I felt that I could achieve, and would work with my schedule. There are so many workout plans, boot camp groups, trainers, etc. available to
those interested in fitness. I just had
to find an option that worked for me. Last week
I stumbled across a plan that actually would work with my current
schedule. So you know that definitely brought
some excitement to my world! So here it
is…
I
found these workout plans via Pinterest.
To work with my schedule, I plan to modify the workout just a little bit. See the following:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - I will use
Zumba as my cardio since those are my scheduled days to teach.
Thursday
– Will be my rest day. I typically rest
on Thursday since I teach Monday-Wednesday.
Friday – I will do the Thursday workout. In substitute for the ab portion of the workout, I may attend the abs class instead.
Saturday
– I will do the Friday workout.
Sunday
– I will rest.
I
feel that the above workouts will help me develop a more structured plan of
achieving my fitness goals. It will
definitely take some hard work and dedication, both which I am will to do. Today will be the first day of my new workout plan. I
will definitely keep you posted on how this plan works out for me. Who knows…. I may even post a before and
after picture. (We shall see…) :-)
So
tell me, what are your fitness goals?
Until
the next one!
L.B
